دكان الفريج

كان معظم الأحياء الكويتية قديماً لا يخلو أحدها من دكان أو أكثر يوفر للأهالي معظم الحوائج الضرورية التي لا يستغنون عنها في حياتهم المعيشية كالرز والطحين والسكر والشاي وباقي الحبوب والبهارات والكاز وغير ذلك
والصورة هنا تمثل دكانين أحدهما مفتوح والثاني مغلق

Al-Fireej Shop

(a quarter which had a number of houses next to one another) : In the past, most Kuwaiti districts had one or two shops which supplied the citizens with their essential daily needs such as rice, flour, sugar, tea, beans, spices, kerosene and other things. The painting features two shops : one is open and the other is closed.

دكاكين الميدان

وهو منظر لحي الميدان في الشرق وتظهر به بعض الدكاكين وماكينة الطحين لصاحبها (آغا علي)

وهي إحدى السكك المتعددة التي ينفذ منها الناس إلى البحر

وهو إحدى بوابات السور الخمس وكانت فيما مضى المنافذ الوحيدة التي تصل المدينة بخارجها

The Stand of the Water Vessel and Gharsha 1

The painting exhibits a stand under the stair case, on it there are Borma (medium-sized water vessel) and Gharsha. Under the stand, Al-Raqqiyah (the watermelon) and the bowl of milk are kept to cool; an old Kuwaiti custom.
